A little known Christmas fact

Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip...but there were problems everywhere.

Four of his elves 1 were sick, and the trainee elves 2 did not produce  the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.

Then Mrs. Claus 3 told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This 4 stressed  Santa even more. When he 5 went to harness the reindeer, he 6 found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and 7 were out, heaven knows where. More Stress. Then when he 8 began to load the sleigh, one of the boards 9 cracked and the toy bag 10 fell to the ground and 11 scattered the toys. So, frustrated, Santa 12 went into the house for a cup of coffee and a shot of whiskey. When he went to the cupboard, he 13 found the elves had hidden the liquor and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he 14 dropped the coffee pot and it 15 broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the he kitchen floor.

He 16 went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from.

Just then the doorbell 17 rang and Santa cursed on his way to the door. He 18 opened  the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel 19 said: "Where would you like to put this tree Santa?"

And that my friends, is how the little angel 20 came to be on top of the Christmas tree.

Rudolf a rénszarvas születésének igaz történetét olvashatod itt. Robert May egy szegény chicagoi szövegkönyvíró volt, aki egy kopott kétszobás  lakásban élt. Kitalált egy történetet, hogy felvidítsa a gyermekét.

A történet Rudolfról szólt, az egyetlen rénszarvasról az egész világon, akinek világító piros orra volt. Mindenki gúnyolódott és viccelődött vele. Rudolf a piros orrú rénszarvas, így csúfolták őt, ami nagyon elszomorította. Még az édesanyja, apja és nővérei is viccelődtek rajta, ha a közelükbe került. Nagyon magányosnak érezte magát.

Egyszer egy karácsonyeste a Mikulás (Santa Claus) a szokásos éjszakai útjára készült a legszebb és leggyorsabb rénszarvasokból álló fogatával. Ezen az éjszakán azonban olyan sűrű, vastag köd ülte meg a tájat, hogy szinte teljesen elnyelte magába a Földet. A Mikulás azon törte a fejét, hogyan fogja azt a rengeteg játékot és más ajándékot eljuttatni a rá várakozó gyerekeknek, mikor pillantása egy világító piros orrocskára esett. A piros orr Rudolfé volt, és a Mikulás tudta, hogy ő lesz a megoldás a gondjára.

 Megkérte hát Rudolfot, hogy vezesse a szánját, amit az boldog örömmel el is fogadott. Rudolf segítségével minden kéményhez eljutottak biztonságban azon az éjszakán a sűrű köd és hóesés ellenére. Ez a merész cselekedete Rudolfot a legnépszerűbb és legbátrabb rénszarvassá tette, valóságos hőssé. A világító piros orr, mely eddig a szégyene volt, most a legnagyobb büszkesége lett.

A történet annyira elbűvölte Barbarát, Robert May kislányát, hogy Bob elhatározta, megírja karácsonyi ajándékként a lányának. A vers címe: The night before Christmas lett. A könyvecske, melyben a lányának  készített egyszerű rajzok voltak illusztrációként nagy siker lett, 1947-ig hat millió példányban kelt el. Egyre másra jelentek meg Rudolfot ábrázoló termékek és Robert May nagyon gazdag ember lett. Azóta Rudolfnak állandó helye van a karácsonyi történetekben.
