When he heard his teacher's footsteps, he quickly held the broken vase behind him. As the teacher walked up to him, he asked, "Why does one die, master?"
"It's natural," said the teacher. "Everything has a beginning and an end. Everything has just so long to live and then has to die."
The student held out the pieces of the broken vase and said, "The time for your vase to die had come."

beginning (n) = the time when something begins
end (n) = the point in time when an action or an event is completed
piece (n) = a thing considered as a unit or an element of a larger thing

Vannak az angol nyelvben szép számmal olyan szerkezetek, amiket a magyar ember még véletlenül sem úgy mondana, mint egy angol anyanyelvű. Hogy csak egy példát említsek: mi azt mondjuk: Azt hiszem, ennyit nem tudok megenni. Ők azt: Nem hiszem, hogy ennyit meg tudok enni.
